Watermarking serves two functions: ownership protection — marking drafts, confidential content, and proprietary work — and version management — distinguishing working copies from approved final documents. The Watermark PDF tool overlays custom text or image at adjustable opacity, rotation, and position, processed locally.
Above 30% opacity, watermarks risk obscuring underlying text. Professional practice is 10–20% — visible enough to communicate intent, low enough not to impair readability of the document content.
Watermarks added by this tool are baked into each page as a content layer. Removing them requires a full PDF editor with individual element selection — it is not a simple or quick operation to reverse.
Yes. Upload a transparent PNG as the watermark overlay and control its opacity, size, and position on the page. A company logo at 12–15% opacity is a common use case for branded documents.
The current workflow applies one watermark configuration across all pages. For per-section watermarks, split the document by range, apply different watermarks to each part, then merge them back.
